Father of the PC
Microsoft founders have been leading tributes to Dr Henry Edward Roberts who was the inventor of the Altair 8800, a machine that sparked our home computer era. Bill Gates contacted Dr Roberts after seeing the machine on the front cover of a magazine and offered to write software for it !

Henry Edward Roberts, el creador del Altair 8800 -considerado el primer ordenador personal del mundo-, murió el jueves en Georgia a los 68 años. Roberts fue quien alentó a Bill Gates y a Paul Allen, allá en la década de los setenta, a fundar el gigante informático Microsoft. Según la familia, Roberts falleció en un hospital de Macon tras padecer largamente de neumonía . .
